Rachel Nielsen was born in Tucson and moved at a young age to Gilbert, Arizona. There, Rachel graduated from Highland High School where she participated actively in the chorale program and went on to sing as a contralto in the vocal performance and choral programs at Northern Arizona University. She holds degrees in Humanities and Higher Education.

Rachel joined Red Note Foundation both out of loyalty to friend Kristen Hooker and also to help make possible students’ dreams of a higher education through music. Rachel contributions to Red Note include her skills in networking, research, initiative development, and information analysis, and her experience in higher education.

In her personal life, Rachel volunteers as a choir director in her church and works in college admissions. Her pastimes include reading, playing the piano, enjoying time with her children, spending time in the great outdoors, and she hopes to spend time traveling in the future.
