Reports to: Operations Director and the Board

Red Note Foundation was formed to continue what Kristen Hooker started: Serving her fellow man, beautifying the world with music, and honoring her God through service, and self-improvement. Kristen believed that music had an ability to touch one’s soul and improve one’s life. Red Note Foundation is dedicated to helping students and individuals gain the music education they seek while offering them opportunities to perform that will build character and showcase their talents.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Director and the Board, the Finance Manager will maintain organizational financials while guiding Red Note Foundation towards their mission. Specific responsibilities include:

Maintain all financial records while leaving clear audit trail;

Oversee the development and adherence of the organization's financial policies;

Manage organizational bank account access and records including check signing and wise investment of excess funds;

Track any outstanding bills and debts owed, as well as developing systems for keeping cash flow manageable;

Schedule and complete annual financial health audit;

Guide the annual budget process as well as comparing actual revenues and expenses incurred against the budget;

Complete the required financial reporting forms (state and federal tax forms) in a timely fashion and make these forms available to the board;

Ensure compliance to all federal and state tax laws;

Keep the board regularly informed of key financial events, trends, concerns, and assessment of fiscal health;

Ensure all expenses receive required approval as outlined in the Expense Approval Guidelines;

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3-4 years experience in finance and non-profit operations;

Thorough working knowledge of federal and state tax laws as it relates to non-profit organizations;

Strong attention to detail;

A proven track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently;

Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills;

Proficient in Microsoft Office software;

Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment;

Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters.
