Chelsey is a native of Arizona. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with her degree in English Education. Chelsey first heard about Red Note through a friend and was drawn to the dedication of music education and Kristen’s legacy.
Chelsey is heavily involved in the community and enjoys giving back. She has been a volunteer wish granter for the Make a Wish Foundation since 2012, an organization that grants wishes for children with life threatening illnesses. Chelsey started working with the City of Phoenix in Parks & Recreation in 2011 when her brother passed in a hiking accident on Camelback Mountain. Through various media interviews, she speaks on safe hiking awareness and also assisted in implementing a safety sign on Camelback Mountain that includes her brother’s picture and story. Chelsey enjoys the demands and challenges of volunteering but mostly the rewards that come with helping others.
As a child, Chelsey enjoyed learning to read and play music, and occasionally writes song lyrics. She took three years of piano lessons with her brother before attempting to learn the guitar and harmonica. Chelsey is a huge animal lover beginning with her love of dogs. So much so that she began a dog sitting business at the age of ten.
Chelsey currently works as a Development Coordinator for another local non-profit, Circle the City that provides healthcare for the homeless. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, reading and writing, and hiking.
